Yep, definitely springboard notches, only way to get a tree down back then.... I have a few old misery whip/saws from the day and am still looking to collect a springboard ...if anyone knows where I can get one..... Thought it would be cool to have hanging on the wall by these pics!

I love those old pictures.  I have a few...somewhere from family back in the day.  No goretex just super tough guys. :tup:
