It is, nothing yet tonight.  Fingers crossed.  I have a friend from Virginia who flew in for three nights, hoping to help him get his first bear this weekend.

In this area June 15th.  Other areas June 30th and even a couple of areas until July 31st.

My friend who is visiting missed a color phase bear last night with his 30.06.  It busted him as he was slowly standing up, he took an off hand shot at 50 yards going through the trees, clean miss.  I managed to kill a nice longbeard yesterday.  Really fun hunt.

So my friend from Virginia smacked a really nice color phase bear last night at 7pm.  Says it rolled a couple of times and was off over a hill.  Not a speck of blood.  Searched some nasty steep stuff for a little over 2 hours and did not find anything.   :(  He flies out today.  He had shots at two nice color phased bears and is going home empty handed.  My turn on the baits now.

I'm fairly certain it was a miss, might have kicked up rocks or something to make it roll, but we never found anything, now a speck of blood and he was able to see exactly where he ran off through...nothing, but thanks for the offer.
