Is the garmin rhino 120 good?

For along time now I've been wanting to get a garmin rhino 650. Just can't rack up the funds quite yet tho. Buddy at work mentioned to me he will sell me his garmin rhino 120 for $50. Is that a good deal? I've seen it and it looks like it is near perfect condition I'm just not familiar with the rhinos. Any one use this particular Gps? Cons/pros? Thanks guys!

Yes, grab it.  The 120 is very basic but you will get back to your truck.

Keep saving funds for the 650 then give the 120 to your hunting buddy/kid/whatever to track on your 650 later on when you have the funds.  The whole point of having a Rino GPS is tracking other users of the Rino series of GPS's

If you don't need the polling feature other GPS's are better/cheaper/smaller than the 650.

Will all rhinos with walkie talkie work with each other?

yup - they keep track of where other rino users are with the walkie talkie, it sends out radio signals with a packet if info other rino's use then place an icon on your gps map. 

With the 120 I think you need to key the radio every so often or talk on it to get that packet of information out to other rinos,  the newer ones do automatic polling.

I have the 650 and like it, but they have already moved on and now are into the 700's series.  The 700's have a bigger screen which is nicer.  About 550.00 though

I have a 120. It uses a lot of batteries and you need to let it lock up when you start your hunt. This may be more or less difficult. I've never hunted w other RHINO users so I can't say it reached its potential. I did have the extra maps and that was pretty good.

If you have a bunch of buddies with RHINOS evennannolder one may be cool. If however you not have a bunch of buddies with them I'm not even sure I'd get a 600 or 700 model one, but just get a good GPS or system for your smart phone.

If its not an HCX model I wouldn't spend my $s on it!

The lowest model you should look at is the 520hcx at minimum.  Anything older than that isn't very reliable.  I am a hardcore Rino user.

Keep your eye out in the classifieds and for sales online. I got the 655T and love it. Locks up almost instantly, 5W radio, touch screen.
