Thats a nice set.  I love how these boys carry their mass.  Something about benchlegs and mass.  I know reddawgs gotten a couple with those characteristics.

Did you come over this spring and do your big spring hike?

I wish I had paid closer attention to the area when it was permit only.  I bet some were allowed to grow up a bit.

I did an overnighter the last weekend of March and a day trek April 1, but no sheds were found.  During my two day trip I saw bulls still carrying their antlers, but no big ones, mostly five points and raghorns.  The second  trip I saw some bulls without, but couldn't find anything.  The cold spring delayed the green-up and it is my opinion the elk stayed low on the private ground, out in the sage and didn't move into the area like they have in the past.  I haven't been able to get away as much as I would like, too.  Glad you started to pull something out after all your trips.  I'll find something sooner or later.

stretched the tape.  One bone is 72+ and the other is 70+ with almost no deductions except all on the one side.  Net was 140.5 so with an 18.5 inside, a solid 159 buck.    Pretty solid for a bench.   Throw in all that mass he really doesn't get credit for.   Only his g2s hold him back.   A 160 buck I'd dump in a heartbeat.

It would be bad ass if you could find him. The way I see it is that he is your buck. No way I could find a buck like that.
