Turkey hunting relatively close to Seattle area

I went to the Colville area a couple of weeks ago and got my first bird. I then drove back to Seattle area (Woodinville) to pick up my boy (15) and took him back. Unfortunately, the birds were all henned up and he was unable to get his first bird.

The season is not over and I'd really like to get my son his first bird but I don't want to drive another 12 hours round trip to NE Washington.

So, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some tips on where we might go relatively close to the Seattle area. And, by "relatively close", I mean 2-3 hour drive.

There are birds along I90 both sides of Klickitat Co.  They are occasionally seen up high, especially in summer, but for the most part you'll want to go east of Easton.  Fair warning: they get a lot of pressure on public land from Pugetropolis hunters looking for turkeys within a 2-3 hour drive.

I believe Double meant to type Kittitas rather than Klickitat.

If you'd really like to get your kid his first bird then you'll make the trip back to the NE corner.  Your odds are extremely low in Central WA, and even lower since you don't know where the birds are. Colville is a long drive but worth it.

Thank you to everyone for all the tips. I would really like to drive back to Colville but it's just not possible right now. Maybe in the Fall.

For now, I'm going to have to try some of the areas in Kittitas even though I know the odds are much lower.

Again, I really appreciate help. I'm a complete newbie so I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

I have seen them in Kittitas County and I have seen them close to Randal.  Couldn't tell ya' the first thing about hunting them in those locations, or any where else for that matter.
