For spring and also fall, I know I am late getting on board for spring, so might as well get some practice in on the fall calls. Any recs are appreciated.

We're also beginners. So far, we've really been liking this box call the best for clucks and yelps. Be sure to buy some chalk to keep it in good condition.

A pot and peg call is easier for kee kee runs (fall). I don't necessarily have a recommendation on a specific product.
And this Primos CD is good for explaining how to use mouth calls for turkey, if you're so inclined.

Box call is by far the easiest for someone new(called in a tom my first time turkey hunting with one). I would listen to some hen yelps online to figure out sound but also pace of the call. Other then that I personally use a slate call ALL the time. It's my go to call and IMO one of the best for volume control, variety of sounds and easy of use. I like this one as it's small compared to other slate calls, sounds great and plus it also shows you with the feathers where to use the striker.
