Winchester Long Beard shotgun shells
« on: May 13, 2017, 10:58:55 AM »
Has anybody either shot this for turkeys this season or tested it on a patterning board?    It's above and beyond grex buffered pellets as it has resin in place of the grex and supposed to produce tighter patterns.

I'd like to get some results info on it from users.

I use them. They shoot great in my gun. My turkey last year was only 10 yards and I didn't get a shot at one this year, but when I patterned them they were tight out to 50 yards!  I don't know if I would shoot that far but I think they could. That being said every gun shoots different.

I pattern them out to 60 yards real well with a Carlson Long Beard choke in my gun made for them.

Good to hear you guys like it.   I have 5 or so other boxes of turkey loads in the garage.  Picked up a box of the Long Beards to test out at some point.  I did not get a turkey tag this year.

I shot some 3" 1 3/4 oz 6's and got 209 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards, also held a deadly pattern to 60 but I don't remember the pellet count now. This is out of a benelli m2 with a Carlson ported extra full choke. They pattern really tight and I think they are the best lead turkey option on the market. Be careful if you call one in close because the pattern is very small inside of 20 yards

This was my 3rd year using them, 3-1/2" 2 oz. #6. Have taken turkeys from 12 yards out to 62 yards. Sold on them.
