Is it common to see more then one
«

bear in the same clearing or on a hill side? I was up scouting yesterday and seen some beautiful country. As I'm looking though my glasses I started wondering whats the chance or odds of seeing two different bears on the same hill side.
Thanks for the advice

Actually very good odds because there often will be a sow with a cub or two.

It's that time of year that your more likely to see two bears together, saw 3 together 2 years ago at this time. Seen multiple bears together a few times during spring bear hunts.

There are three adult bear in the second pic. One is just getting into the trees. The second one was chasing him. I took the pic with my hand held pocket camera.

I took a boar on a hill with another bear that I didn't get to determine sex on, but it too was a bigger bear. Beyond that every big boar I've seen is alone. I've seen well over 100 in the ne corner during my spring hunts.
I have seen bears in close proximity to each other but not typically within eyesight.....EXCLUDING when we could bait.

Not uncommon. I've watched big boars run smaller boars out of quality feed areas. Just depends.

When there is a high quality, concentrated food resource, it is not uncommon to see multiple bears.

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when. No habitat = no game.

Last year I killed a boar with a sow and the year before I saw a sow with 3 cubs. 7 years ago I was watching a huge huckleberry covered hillside. I saw 3 bears working it early then shot the 4th bear I saw. It happens under the right conditions. agood luck to you.

You're in mating season right now. Seeing a sow without a boar would be like seeing a cow without a bull during the elk rut.

Saturday we saw a boar and sow together, and another smaller bore about 300 yards up the hill.

One of my fondest memories in the woods was about this time of year, I was probably doing some late shed hunting. I stumbled across an open hillside with 5 bear feeding on it. All five were a different color. It was amazing. I sat and watched them for a good hour. All they were interested in was filling their bellys

I saw that once we were drifting the Smith river and three bears on a gravel bar. One black one white and one red.
