Roosevelt keeper .. Been a fun fishery . To bad it could close after this year due to people taking way over the limit. I now know of 3 different occurrences of Russians taking over the limit. One boat had 17 sturgeon !

Nice fish you launch at Kettle?
When people are caught over the limit arrest them plain and simple.

Wonder how many they killed when there wasn't even a season at all?  :bash:

What kind of bait are you using? I've never fished for them before, now that it's open so close to home I thought I would give it a try.

Going to the coast for a graduation and will hit a few bait stores tomorrow.  Since Sturgeon opened here you can't find any weights or terminal tackle to speak of. The Elephant is about cleaned out of sinkers.

I'm glad I didn't yardsale my plunking wts and sliders when I moved back home, my down rigger rods should work just fine.

  Last weekend I watched folks fishing with 7 1/2 trout rods and reels I would guess could be spooled in the first half of a run tossing 3oz of lead and 14 LB test. I did hope that they had hooked up.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

This has a large following right now. I would guess as the water comes up it might get a bit harder for some folks to reach them.
