Vortex Optics
« on: October 11, 2007, 01:55:44 PM »
Anyone have any experience w/ Vortex optics?

I recently bought 1 of their spotting scopes based on some reviews I read and some dealers I spoke with.  I heard for the money they were a tremendous value... best for under $500 is how many sources put it.  I believe they are kinda new to the hunting market.  Supposedly they've been a favorite of birders for years.

Anyway, the scope that I got is very impressive.... especially from 15-35 power.  A good friend has a very nice Leica and while he didn't say it was as good he said it compares very well.

The customer service is great too.  I ended up losing the front lens cap.  They sent me 2 replacements for the front and back as well as a cleaning kit and a hat free of charge.

Just wondering if anyone has used their binos or rifle scopes and if they are of similar quality, etc.

My dad bought a vortex last year and loves it.  I've had a chance to play around with it a few times and was very impressed.
