Buckhorn Wilderness Snow Levels?
« on: June 09, 2017, 11:13:51 AM »
Hi All,

I am planning to take a trek over to the Buckhorn wilderness on the east side of the Olympics tomorrow for a scouting trip.  Has anybody been in there the past week or two and know what the snow levels and access are like?

I see on the forestry website a note at the beginning of May quite a bit of snow on the trails still.  I'll probably call the office and ask as well, but thought I'd check on this forum if anybody has been in there recently for some first hand info.

Thanks,

Keith

I bet there is quite a bit of snow still once you get some elevation. :twocents:

Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.  I spoke with the Forest Service office and got some updates from them as well.

Not sure if there is a station near where you are interested in, but this site can be a good reference on snow levels.
