What is it?

Kind of a weird photo.  Not quite sure what it is.  Have an idea or two.  What say you?

Thinking an eyeball, eyelashes, and maybe an ear...but may also be the start of an antler??? Tough to tell when they are that close and the night lighting... :dunno:

Birdguy.....I was thinking the same.  Ear seems too short for a deer, although it could be due to distance.  Wiskers in particular and ears want to make me think possibly a  cougar, just hard to determine.  Don't think bears have wiskers like that. :dunno:

Elk or Moose eyeball and eye lashes.

Those are eye lashes not whiskers. I vote some sort of ungulate.

A little lower than normal as there is a downhill slope.
