Trout Limits - Boat Fishing
« on: June 26, 2017, 07:18:59 PM »
Just wanted to ensure I'm not being overly conservative with limits while trout fishing (lake) in a boat.

I've simply maintained individual limits and poles. If I've reached my limit, I pull in my pole(s) and so on. However, I recently saw a post on FB where it was mentioned that the regs say when fishing from a boat, it's overall limit that matters, so everyone can continue fishing until all limits are reached. I have not seen this anywhere in the regs. I also do not know if the context was personal vs. guided. Am I overlooking something?

Page 98 in the Regs clearly indicates that it is legal for everyone to keep fishing until all limits are achieved in saltwater. Nothing similar that I can see for freshwater.
There is not enough wilderness left in the world, or in the hearts of men.

Thats a saltwater only deal....probably developed for the charter fleets because they were doing it for years before that rule came into play.....Les

Nicely done...it was indeed put in place in response to requests from the charter industry.
