3/6 Blue Mtns whitetail
« on: June 15, 2017, 09:00:50 AM »
This is my 3rd time in 6 years drawing a Blue Mtns. Foothills quality whitetail muzzy permit. I cannot wait for November to come around.

First time: Took my wife and 1 year old over there and on our way in we saw a monster buck. Everybody I spoke to said to not shoot the first buck you see. I should've shot him because the fog rolled in for the next 5 days. On day 5 my 1 year old came down with thrush and my wife gave me 1 more morning to hunt before we went home. Shot a dinky 3 point the next morning.

2nd time: took my wife, daughter(3), and son(1) with me and on day two I spotted another monster but my trigger on my knight froze up and the buck walked within 30 yards of me. Kicking my self in the rear on that one I shot a nice 4pt the next day. I learned it's harder than hell to stalk a buck with two kids and a wife with ya.

3rd time: I hope for clear sky's and cold temps and rutting whitetails! Looking to rent a cabin for the wife and kids to hangout in when they get cold.

Shouldn't have any problem. Two years ago I counted 46 legal bucks in the first two days.

The OP has the west. You have a different hunt area if you have east. East is lots of  private land.

I defiantly check into that. Do you know if they rent out the godman cabin?

If you have the muzzy tag the Godman cabins will most likely require snow machines to acesss... most of the deer have moved lower by that time anyway

I think that is backwards?  Regs show a "C" for west which designates access limited due to the amount of private land.
