Dayton archery bull
« on: June 23, 2017, 05:48:54 PM »
Does anyone know who drew Dayton archery bull tags?  I'm sitting on 19 points and still not drawing.  Just reaching out.

I know of a guy. I believe he had  at least 15pts, but can't swear to it.

Gotta luv our point system.  Going crazy not drawing with so many points.  I know it will happen, just not sure when.

I wouldn't bank on going to happen 7 tags and 400 people put in for it on 2016. Thats a 1.7% chance not accounting for points. But even top point doesn't increase you odds that much too ever guarantee a tag in ones lifetime. There is always a chance thats why we play. Want a guarantee go out of state were you can buy otc.

With those points I'd focus on wenaha west as first choice.  Dayton gets alot of pressure now from the Indians who rifle hunt it in August.   I think you'd have that unit all to yourself besides the other two guys that also drew.

I know a guy that drew Dayton rifle twice in four years. It is a bizarre system for sure. Good luck.

In 2006 we drew 5 of the 13 rifle tags when we put in as a group with an average of 5 points.  Shot a 398, 360, 335, and a 315 bulls that year and swallowed one of the tags.  In 2007 we drew Dayton rifle again with 2 points and my buddy shot a 330 bull.  you always have a chance but more points increase the odds but nothing is guaranteed.

Good to hear such great success, and you got to do it with your family.  I will get drawn one of these days and hoping to be able to share my time with my family too.  ]

At 20 points your odds actually start to decrease every year. If you look at the drawing system in 2016 not one person drew Dayton Archery with over 15 points. Will be very interesting to see how many points the successfull applicants had this season.

And thats why its called a drawing.  :chuckle:
I drew last year with 20 points.
With only a handful of tags the average to draw doesn't mean anything. It gets peoples hoping  that they're getting close.
