Shopping for a 9MM standard pistol

Buying myself a retirement gift this Friday and was wondering which 9MM is the best for its value and accuracy?  I plan on using this as a plinking gun on the range only and not a conceal carry.  IE looking for a standard size.  With all my newfound time starting this Friday, want to shoot the gun every week and have already started reloading for the amount I plan to shoot.  So let me here it, what's your favorite to use and which to avoid.

I think you should build a Not a Glock 80% lower. I've been told it feels more like the rake of a 1911 but uses all flock components. Heck get 2 and use one for the MecTech carbine upper so you can compete in 2 or 3 gun competitions!

Currently don't own a 9mm, but the next one I buy will likely be the full size Walther ppq m2.  Brother in law has the 40 and it is a sweet ride.  Good luck and congrats on your retirement.

Asking for opinions on handguns is like asking what underwear we like, LOL

A lot of ranges also have rentals.
I would suggest you go shoot a bunch of different guns, and choose the one you prefer to shoot.
Most name brand handguns will shoot sufficiently accurate.
Things to consider, do you plan on conceal carrying?
How do you plan on conceal carrying IWB or OWB?
This can make a huge comfort difference with IWB more concealable but not as comfortable as OWB.
A thinner single stack might be preferable. I prefer double stacks, my grip feels better, many do not.
I own many holsters and holster types. Each one has an advantage at certain times depending on activity or clothing worn.
Lots of good pistols to choose from my current carry is a Springfield XD .40 4", but I own many.
The Sig 320 would give you the option to switch calibers if you wish.

No plan on conceal carrying this one.  Want to use it solely for the range.  My Girlfriend has a nice Smith and Wesson that I like, but have only shot that and a beretta.  Did not like the beretta one bit.

Take a trip to Skagit Shooting Range and test a few out, hold a few and shoot a few.

Sounds like a great plan, and they are just a few miles down the road

I like my P320 9mm compact and would recommend trying one out.

Like others said, I'd rent a handful of them. It will probably come down to whichever one has the grip you like best. There aren't many current-production pistols that are "bad," imo.

One thing you might consider though: since carrying isn't a priority, looking into an all-steel pistol. The extra weight might make it more pleasant to shoot in a range/plink setting. I'd recommend a CZ-75B.

Kimber Tactical II in .45,  the best shooting pistol Ive ever owned and or shot!  And I love my XDM in .40 but its nothing compared to my Kimber
