Currently don't own a 9mm, but the next one I buy will likely be the full size Walther ppq m2. Brother in law has the 40 and it is a sweet ride. Good luck and congrats on your retirement.
I have been drooling over the Sig 320. Feels great in my hand, and has a crisp trigger. I want one.
Asking for opinions on handguns is like asking what underwear we like, LOLA lot of ranges also have rentals. I would suggest you go shoot a bunch of different guns, and choose the one you prefer to shoot. Most name brand handguns will shoot sufficiently accurate. Things to consider, do you plan on conceal carrying? How do you plan on conceal carrying IWB or OWB? This can make a huge comfort difference with IWB more concealable but not as comfortable as OWB.A thinner single stack might be preferable. I prefer double stacks, my grip feels better, many do not.I own many holsters and holster types. Each one has an advantage at certain times depending on activity or clothing worn.Lots of good pistols to choose from my current carry is a Springfield XD .40 4", but I own many. The Sig 320 would give you the option to switch calibers if you wish.
Best advice I can give is put some in your hand. Take a trip to Skagit Shooting Range and test a few out, hold a few and shoot a few.
