AR hand stop question
« on: June 30, 2017, 09:42:11 PM »
I was perusing various hand stop options, I have preferred a vertical grip for CQB but I am old school, LOL.

There are many reversible hand stops, but I was just curious of which do you guys that use hand stops prefer:

A hand stop that allows you pull into your shoulder?
or
A hand stop that stops your forward movement of you hand?

Magpul AFG is what I typically run. They have a couple versions I believe.

Magpul MVG.

It's a shorty vert grip. I run it with my hand jammed in the crux with an overhand grip over the handguard.

Nothing

If I was forced to use one I'd use a BCM stubby.

Do you guys really want to be like this?  :chuckle:

I have never cared for the "forward grip" just goes against my muscle memory from years of a close in grip or a sling wrap.

I have a 12" handguard on a 14" barrel so I use the Magpul hand stop kit. It does allow me to pull the rifle into my shoulder more and helps make sure my hand doesn't creep too far forward. Ive had the VFG and AFG, didn't like either, the hand stop kit feels a lot more natural.
