Photo hosting
« on: July 09, 2017, 02:18:55 PM »
I hate you Photobucket, but your uploading and posting of pictures was great.
I could text a picture I just took with my phone to the contact address that Photobucket gave me. The photo would automatically upload to my mobile upload album and Photobucket would upload the photo to the correct file size instead of uploading the same size as what my phone took the picture as ( huge).
Any site work like this?
I downloaded the imgur app but can't figure it out and it looks like it post your pictures for the world to see, whereas o would like my pictures hosted somewhere that I can just post the link to on a forum (this one and others) and the picture post but not some random folk that goes to the imgur website and sees my photo in a long time line of all the imgur users photos. I use no other social media and am technology stupid.

I hate Photobucket, they told me I was using up all my storage so I went and deleted a buttload of useless pics and all they did was copy them into another location and counted them against me twice, so I deleted them again then I was told I couldn't take anymore pics as I had no more storage and have 3 copies of all my deleter pics. now I have to pay tons of money to share pics with 3rd party...nope not doing it they can kiss my butt !!

I quit Photobucket back in 2012 when my best friends photo (from his Photo bucket account) appeared on a BECU commercial during a Sounders game without his copyright. He contacted BECU, the next time I saw the same commercial his photo was removed.
Since then, i have used Smugmug. I have had there basic plan since, and it works great.

Smugmug has extensions for publishing from Lightroom and pretty much all other editing programs.

Maybe try google photos. It automatically syncs with my phone when I'm connected to wifi and it's free.

Here's a short video shared with a copied link.

and a picture

I've never tried posting them to a forum before... hope it works.
