Price?
« on: July 21, 2017, 09:34:11 PM »
Completed this for a coworker including the base. Just wondering if some of you full time guys could tell me what I should of charged. What should a customer expect to pay for a mount like this? I only do a little taxidermy in my spare time and don't think I am up to date with much of what's happening in the industry.

Stand and scenery is probably close to $800 and the mount another $600-800.  I would say on the low end $1500 and high end $2000 depending on how you tanned the hide, stiched it and components for eyes / nose / etc.  Lots of variables....I have seen nice looking mounts go bad due to a bad tan or stich job.

:yeah:  I'm bringing you one too for $250.  But seriously, that looks great.  Don't know what the pedestals cost, but I spent $750 on a shoulder mount a couple years ago (probably overpaid) that doesn't look any better than that.

Yeah, looks beautiful from the pics.  I would agree on the $2k range, $700ish is a fair price for a standard shoulder mount.

I guess this guy got a pretty good deal but that's ok, I'm not trying to get rich.  Thanks for your replies, just trying to get an idea of what I could or should be charging.  I have a lot of guys that want me to do work for them just don't have the time with a family and full time job.  I try to squeeze in as much as I can but don't ever seem to be able to catch up.

If you aren't a licensed taxi I suggest not answering that on a public forum.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
