I firelapped my son's 338-378 this spring.   i started with 5 rounds of the medium then 5 with the fine.  Then 10 strokes cleaning with the lasso or jb bore paste.  Not sure if it helped much on accuracy but certainly didnt hurt and cleans easier now.  After bedding and firelapping it shoots consistent 4" groups at 500 and ragged hole at 100.  I would Not do it on a chrome barrel or a custom barrel.

I looked at the Tubbs Final Finish system but it comes with 50 rounds to load and shoot.  At that point I'm thinking maybe just get a new Pac-nor barrel rather than load and shoot 50 rounds with an unknown final outcome.

I've used one utilizing lead bullets and clover grit.   I've done 4 or so revolvers and probably another 4 rifles.   Next project is a new .22lr revolver that has a leading issue.

I would think it wouldnt do anything to the chrome until it started stripping it off which maybe isnt a good thing?

I think fire lapping would be counter productive.  The chrome lining should be pretty smooth so firelapping wouldn't have much to smooth out but would erode the chrome.

What problem are you trying to solve with fire lapping?

I firelapped my first rimfire today.  No leading afterwards.  Next trip out will be with regular ammo to see if leading issue was fixed.  For those who are curious I used the 60 grain Aguila as it has a very long bearing surface.
