Adding a winch - recomendations for a place to do the work? Theft issues?

I am pretty sure I want to add a winch to my truck (2014 F350).  Never done this before so looking for someone that sells and installs the winch.  (Don't want a brush guard, just a front receiver).

Anyone know of a reputable dealer somewhere between Bellevue and Marysville?

Also, I want to get one that attaches to a front hitch.   Is theft an issue with winches mounted to front hitch receivers?  With a locking pin of course...

I have a winch on a stinger with power front and rear and love it. I mostly hang it when I'm headed off into the wilds. I've found that the front stingers with stock bumpers hang low enough to cause extra hang ups in the front. Consider running power front and rear. MOVING numbers out of montana for full size trucks  has a sweet DYI kit you can weld up yourself for bumpers. 2c

I have a cradle with a WARN 9500 powered front and back. I have had it since 1999 and have had it on 4 trucks, soon to be 5 Being able to mount on the back when needed has saved my ass and my marriage

Torklift Central in Kent did my first 4. They charge about 900.00 to install a front receiver and wire front and back

I am having Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah do the same on my 2017 Silverado and they charge about 700.00

I hang it when I go Hunting and keep it on most of the winter to pull folks out of ditches

I would hang it off the rear because normally that is where I pull my nose out of the sticky spot from.

X2 on setting it up for front and back.

You probably already have a rear receiver, but need power plug front and rear.

I have this and love it.

Think of all the times you've been stuck where a front mounted winch wouldn't be all that useful......

Great info.  Honestly I don't think it would have occurred to me to put power in both front and back to run the winch but that makes total sense.

In looking at winches, I see there is a Warn "power station" that has a built in air compressor.  That looks interesting!

I would consider some place like Randys off road in M vill to do the install because they may some good ideas on instilation location.

I haven't used them I've done my own.. I'm just guessing that a 4wd shop or RV shop may have experience with this stuff.

You will find that a lot of the good winch bumpers won't allow the winch to be removed without removing the bumper.

Wire up front and rear with quick connects.  Wireless winch control.  Bed receiver to store winch when not in use.  Lock it up there in bed.  I would like to do this in the future as well.  Warn overpriced IMOP.

Even a warn will over heat and cook if you over work the winch. Phat cables big batteries and a high amp alternator are a must if your going to work your winch hard.

That is true. But thieves are relentless. I have a friend who had the entire bumper and winch stolen.

It wouldn't hurt to have the installer tack weld all the bolts and/or nuts on the bumper mounts and winch mount.
