Packboard Mount-Mulie Giant (BlackRiver Taxidermy)
«

Guy came into the shop several months back and had a tremendous set of mule deer antlers. He wanted to have them mounted, but did not want another shoulder mount. He stated he wanted something "different and unique". While I know I am not the first one to do a 'packboard buck', I made the suggestion for this type of mount for his 37" wide monster. I had a spare cape and I buy these packboards when I can for these type of projects and had a few in the shop...Here's the finished product. Enjoy- Joel/BRT

That is awesome! One of the coolest mounts I have ever seen! I just inherited my grandpa's old wood pack board. I might have to hit you up this fall.

Thank you for the compliments....I scored him today out of curiosity but also due to lots of customers asking. 184 6/8=Gross, 172=Net.
Have a modern internal frame pack that Ive hunted with for years and time to replace it with years of elk and deer breaking it down. Instead of the dumpster or selling it going to mount up a set of my antlers to it and put in the house as a reminder of both a good pack and great times. Will post some pics when I complete that project..in all my spare time....But, just an option of another idea for those of you that shed a tear when its time to replace you pack, put a memory to it and display it...lol.
Thanks again! Joel-BRT
