I bought a globe sight and a mount but the dovetail is not even close to tight any suggestions?

I used a small, thin piece of brass as a shim.
Also, used a little JB weld on the edge.  As the gun got too hot from repeated shooting, the sight loosened up and started moving a little back out.

Here is a link to the globes sight and base.   Don't jury rig it.  might cost you a chance at a trophy.   buy the right base.

LAZYDRIFTER those are the parts I got and the globe sight will just slide through no resistance in the mount.  I heard some people ping the cheaper of the 2 parts but that seems kind of crude way to do it.  I was thinking some solder or possibly drill and use a set screw  but the shim idea is not hard to do also  thanks for the help

Doesn't look like there is a good way to put in a set screw and I think solder will break free. I would shim it and if that didn't work maybe braise them together. I would start with the shim though to stay adjustable.

That's strange.  We've ordered 3 sets of those and they were really snug fitting.   one set was so tight I had to set the flat base of the globe on a sheet of fine emery cloth and sand it ever so lightly so I could get it to start.

I'd send it back for replacement if it's that loose.
