post count had nothing to do with these changes, the changes were made due to the negativity we mods have seen and the members who thankfully replied in this topic

I encountered a career path change that now has me on a 3 hour a day commute round trip.  Simply just no time now.

I am fairly new to the site and haven't been able to figure out how to post pics or stories from my Android . Thinking of asking pianoman next time I see him in person. Tried to post my story of my trip up to swift channel last Saturday and couldn't figure it out. Only let's me respond to what other members post. Also because it's intimidating how some members bust your butt on your post sometimes.  For instance the bigfoot post. I'm am very interested on the subject and wish people who arnt would keep it to themselves instead of ridiculing and making fun of those who are on any subject. I feel it's more of finding friends who share  common interests and thoughts more then debating and justifying everything about onself. This is just my  :twocents: worth. Other then that it's a great site. I have learned a lot since I joined

As far as the Bigfoot thread, it has been around for many years and yea, we'd apprecite any info you can contribute. It does seem at times that we dont take it serious but we do.

We have developed a bit of humor over the years as a way for us that have kept it alive to remain. To understand it you'd have to read it from the beginning.

I was thinking about this thread while I was at work today and I have another request. Can we legalize the word $hit?

I understand that you want to avoid profanity, but I don't consider that word profane when talking about animal droppings. And I can't bring myself to say poop. If my departed grandmother were here and holding my little three year old nephew, I would still call it bear *censored*. That's just the best word we have for it, not profanity.

What Plat says, many of us in that thread are friends and have had adventures together.  For all the goofing around there are those who love hearing people's tales. I work with people who live and work in remote places, you hear some incredible things.  So please do jump in if you have some interesting Bigfoot stories.

My  :twocents::  Anonymity doesn't work well. I use my real name on every forum to check myself; as self-regulation, to keep me in-line. Requiring real names in profiles might discourage some bad behavior.  Keep "cool" handles/avatars, but have real names in users' profiles.  I have no instance where using my real name compromised my privacy. For me, personal responsibility is more important than the privacy of using a screen name.

wish I could change my username to my real name.   Made an account because my brother insisted.  Had no intention of participating so just threw something up.  Can they be changed?

I guess I would qualify as an "Esteemed Lurker"  :dunno:

I just wanted to say that every interaction I have had with any of the Mods on this sight, they have gone out of their way to be helpful, and tolerant.

Though that KF Hunter guy brutalized me a week or two ago for some trivial rule or something.......

Just kidding,
I pulled a big piece of stupid and posted a word that I did not realize was a banned word, no excuse, I was at fault.
KF Hunter was straight to the point (as a Mod should be) in a Private Message and politely let me know how I broke the rules.

Keep up the great work

I've been thinking on this topic a lot lately ever since coach posted that he was tired of the garbage and hanging it up. I pretty much hung it up after my elk hunt last year. We had an amazing deer season with multiple bucks over 180 inches. I didn't share any of it and some of those hunts were pretty Epic. After my elk hunt last year I received the message from a certain member and basically accused me of using a rifle instead of my bow. I dumped so much Blood Sweat and Tears into that hunt made me sad more than mad that there are people in this world that think like that.

this forum is continually spiraling downward because all of the members that made this place what it is have moved on because of just a few trolls. It's a private site so I truly believe that there doesn't need to be a reason to ban someone. If they don't add anything to the quality of the place just get rid of them.

I still do not plan on offering much as far as advice and discussion on Topics but I have decided that I am going to share my hunting season this year as it's a pretty good one.  WA, CO, WY, lots of ID tags, and my daughter's first hunting season. I believe that if more of us share then it might right the ship a bit. I don't blame  any  of are major contributors for going other places  as I think all of us have gotten pretty burnt out.  When you spend a lot of time in the field and you put a lot of animals on the ground  it is sometimes difficult to stomach comments from people that you know  produce far less  in the field than you, or has even never done something or used something and they're trying to tell you that you are wrong  and it just gets tiresome.  You think you are adding quality information and entertainment but when you get trolled around every corner really makes a guy second guess that and think why bother.  I need to be part of the solution though and by leaving that's not what I'm doing. If I get trolled a bunch like I did last year then I think all hope is lost and I'll just move on.

Dale, Josh, Doug, and some of the other mods have done an amazing job for all of us and they deserve better from their community. This place has been a major influence in my life and some of my very best friends to this day I have met only because of this forum. I guess what I'm trying to say is as much as you guys piss me off I might post a picture to this year

After reading this I realized I haven't seen you post much in a long time. I mentioned earlier in this thread many of the quality posters have left. You are definitely one of them that fit in the quality description.  Always enjoyed reading your hunting stories. And you always seemed to have very intelligent comments on technical/equipment subjects.

I just viewed a thread with 17 replies of a Mule Deer's C and B's titled "Guess How Big?" A few days before, I had posted reply pics of a 4X4 NE Mule Deer in the 2017 Velvet post in this same deer section, which received no responses? I did this ONLY because people in this thread suggested sharing more. I was encouraged to contribute. I don't know, did I offend someone, share too much, come across as bragging or something? Seriously... not sure?

I found the testicles and sheath thing almost funny, but found it more fitting for a bar/saloon type of atmosphere, personally...  I think others would agree, but nobody wants to step up and take the lashing. The poster is a supporter after all. I spend my free time running mountain tops and going deep, work hard for everything. Real hard. I'm sure many of you are more interested in those experiences, but why would I want to share that? This is my real direct take on hunt WA at this time. Really makes me not want to post and forces me to question the general caliber of hunter/sportsmen on here. So wah wah wah, nobody commented on a stupid trail cam photo of a deer and wah wah wah they're talking about deer testicles. Well, sorry, I'd just prefer something with the reversed preference. Call it more tasteful and appropriate too.

Several years ago on here you probably wouldn't  have seen this. The quality of  posts  have gone way down hill. The quality posters  have mostly  left because the type that thinks a pic of a deers sack is funny took over. Sad, this was a sight that a lot of knowledge  was passed around. Not so much anymore. .

Says something when more people will post about a deers twig and berries than will post about a picture of a nice buck's head gear.

I personally was not offended by the twig and berry photo and could care less that it was posted.  I just think your observation about what post get responses and which ones don't is very valid.

I wasn't a bit offended by it either. I'm a guy that loves to joke around and laugh. Just didn't find  much humor  in a ding a ling pic. And was surprised how many responses it got......

Bearpaw or other mods, some time back I let people get under my skin and found myself becoming part of the problem here. I decided it was time I moved on. Went back and deleted most of my posts and all of my pics. I have mostly lurked since.

I like many now it seems  am not to interested in posting pics the whole world can see. So I have and idea/suggestion, might be a dumb one?! How about creating a new section called the success or harvest section where a mod needs to approve access to members. And for a member to be  approved they need to submit a pic of a harvest. Wouldnt have to be a trophy,  could be a duck, rabbit, or squirrel for that matter. From what I have read on here for the most part those trying to be the Internet game wardens are not the ones that post pics themselves. People that are comfortable posting pics on other sections still could. Just might be a way to create a place to make some comfortable posting pics that wouldn't otherwise.  I realize you probably are not looking to create more sections, but maybe eliminate or combine one or more of the less used ones? Just a thought.......
