Old Eyes and Pin Blurring

A great thread.  I don't have problems with pin blur 'yet'.  Typically my problem is a really shaky peep and pin when an elk walks in front of me.  I had the pro-shop check my set up and they told me, "...it's not the bow!"

I am far sighted and had the same problem for years. I solved the problem by going down to Costco and getting glasses that are far sighted and a very small portion with bifocals on the bottom. I have Transition glasses and sights are fussy. So now I have glasses for hunting and target practice and work great. I also shoot a pistol and rifle and made me a better shot. I also went to a single pin with a micro glow pin.  This might help you

I dont need glasses, but im curious on what you said, does it not screw up your peripheral vision?  Your ability to catch small movement at a distance?

Wearing glasses and hunting/hiking/huffing the way I do isn't an option for me.
I would forever be lost in the fog:)

I've accepted the fact that I'm just moving up on the wrong side of the food chain.

I ordered the various "Verifier" lens strengths and the "tool".
Clarifier focuses the target. Verifier focuses the pins.
I will be able to look through the different lenses at a pin I hold at arms length, at home.
I will then know what strength of lens to get while still keeping my target in focus.
I can then return the tool and order the correct lens.

2Many, I went through picking a verifier last fall, I bought a 5 but it fuzzed out the target just a little.  I'm getting a 4 and moving the 5 to the backup bow.  I use +2.25-2.50 cheaters and the 6 I tried was waaaay too much.  You can get them on Amazon or call Specialty and talk to Michael, either works.
