If you had all the time in the world (retirement) to predator hunt, what would be the first state you would travel to call predators and why?
For lots of opportunity I would think Nevada (Lots of private land though) or Wyoming for coyote and bobcat. A friend of mine from Kansas keeps saying I should go there for coyote. I think Idaho is top or near top for lion hunting .
I'd be in Idaho for wolves but Nevada would be high on my list. 76% of the state is public land and there is an insane amount of song dogs as well as fox.
I'm retired and love to hunt coyotes. I put together a hunting rig with a bunk in the back, solar panel and propane furnace. I hunt up to five different states each winter. 2017 I hunted WA, UT, WY(one day), NV and NM plus called in AZ and OR without taking a gun out. UT, WY, and NV you don't need a license. I take off and make a few month loop around the west. I can camp for free everywhere I go and have a complete kitchen set up. I have friends and hunting partners scattered all around the west.It is really pretty inexpensive to do it.
