Idaho Fall Season
« on: September 29, 2017, 11:25:25 AM »
Finally cooled down and got some rain last week, so I put my first bait out this fall.  Got the bait out Saturday afternoon and finally last night had a bear show up, black one.  Then this morning a really nice looking brown sow with 2 brown rolly polly cubs showed up and stayed for a couple of hours.  I'll post a couple of photos tonight.

Yeah love those reduced price tags.  Made use of mine on day two of my elk hunt since nothing else was moving.

So my wireless camera died on 01 Oct.  First I thought the SD Card was full, so I switched it out.  Still no photos.  So I went in and pulled the camera, bait was empty and barrel was mauled by unhappy customer(s).  I had 5 bears on the bait, but the main resident was a really nice brown sow with 2 fat little brown cubs.  I have photos of the two buggers chowing down all night while Mom slept next to the barrel.  So got the bait barrel refilled and the camera working again (Lithium batteries last forever but die quickly!).  Then the next 5 nights nothing.  I should not have let my barrel get empty.  Anyways FINALLY 2 nights ago they came back.  I have 4 bears working the bait, Mom and 2 cubs and one nice bear.  But nothing is coming in at all during the day.  Thinking this is not going to have a happy ending!  :)

C'mon Fred, kill a nice bear before they go to sleep over there.
