Anyone ever fallow deer hunted???

 Just wondering if anyone here has ever hunted fallow deer... this is one i got a couple years ago... I've heard that at one point there was or still is some free range in washington. True???

no but i have heard stories of a couple out by orting somewhere? and i have seen them at the olympic game farm and they were dandys

 Unfortunately species like Fallow and Sika are causing our deer herds a ton of damage with the lice they've brought in. Nothing personal, but I'd be just fine if they'd send them back where they came from.

Ya they are what basically ruined the deer herds around yakima

I think about 16 of them were killed around springdale in the late 80"s when a bunch escaped. I saw one 4 yrs ago by my house in Deer Park, didnt know I could legaly kill it, ever saw it again  :(

So what is the law, can you shoot them if you see them free range? (public land)

The answer I was given is yes you can legally shot them.

I went up to Victoria Island Sea kayaking for four days about six years ago & every morning a large herd was in the meadow next to our camp ground. I got up every morning & watched them over a cup of coffee. They would start filtering into the woods about a half hour after first light. They are a cool animal, actually majestic looking. Seemed larger than our deer, would love to bow hunt them for sure. Mike
