We're headed to  Moses lake area for the first time. Usually go to Yakima but they closed the yakama nation campground so trying something new. Hopefully it's not all posted

they are around here, I walked out my door and about 30-40 of them flew off my driveway

If I were to drive over from Tacoma, is there a public area one would recommend to have a good chance at seeing some doves?  Do you just look for them on power lines and sit down in a field hoping they'll fly by?  Or do you look for water, or?  Not sure the best way to target them.

We have Eurasian collared doves coming to our little pond everyday. Wife won't let me hunt and gather in the backyard though. We both like to watch them come in while we're sitting right there. They are a pretty bird.

Kind of where we were at until two pairs turned into 500-1000 birds.   
A couple guys came out and contributed to the blasting.   We have thinned them drastically.

They are considered a predatory bird. You do need a hunting license.

Hunting predatory birds.

(1) HUNTING PREDATORY BIRDS:

(a) It is unlawful to hunt for or take predatory birds without a hunting license except as allowed under RCW 77.36.030.

(b) Crows and magpies: It is permissible to take crows during established hunting seasons and crows or magpies when found committing or about to commit depredations upon ornamental or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, or wildlife, or when concentrated in such numbers and manner as to constitute a health hazard or other nuisance provided that none of the birds, or their plumage, be offered for sale.

(c) All other predatory birds may be hunted throughout the year.

(2) SALE OF PREDATORY BIRDS: It is permissible to sell starlings, house sparrows, Eurasian collared doves, and rock doves for the purposes of falconry and lawful to sell rock doves and Eurasian collared doves for the purposes of bird dog training.

(3) POSSESSION OF PREDATORY BIRDS: It is permissible to take from the wild and possess live starlings, house sparrows, Eurasian collared doves, and rock doves for purposes of falconry and Eurasian collared doves and rock doves for purposes of bird dog training.

(4) RELEASE OF LIVE PREDATORY BIRDS: It is permissible to release Eurasian collared doves and rock doves for the purposes of bird dog training or falconry without a permit.

Some people around my place have been shooting the Eurasians with their pellet guns. (can't remember who).  Makes for great sport so I'm told. There are getting to be more and more of them coming into my feeder, out about 30 yards from my back deck.

I kill every Eurasian collared dove I have a chance at. 3 fewer in my yard this year, and many left to remove...It's sad to see how much they have spread in just a short amount of time. My first edition of the Sibley's bird guide, published in '03, shows their distribution limited to the SE and lower-central Midwest. The second edition, published last year I think, shows them distributed across the entirety of the lower 48. Now if I could only convince my mother-in-law to let me shoot them on her property...
