Best upright freezer?
« on: August 27, 2017, 09:16:03 AM »
I'm being optimistic and anticipating a need.  Looking for the largest upright I can buy that will fit in a 36" wide x 32" depth opening.  22cf or more.  Any suggestions or recommendations appreciated.  If I can pull this off, will have 2 upright freezers available.

I have a Frigidaire upright that is around 24 cubic feet.  I had to special order it and I am not sure you can get it anymore.  Other than that, it has been an awesome freezer.  I would recommend that you do not get a frost free or self defrosting freezer.  You will wind up with more freezer burn than if you manually defrost once or twice per year.

As Polar bear stated don't get frost free. Manual defrost is best. I think ours is a whirlpool and has the condenser loop inside the sidewalls. Just keep clearance and no plugged up condenser coil like the ones with the coil under them with a fan to break as well.
