Meat Bandsaw
« on: August 27, 2017, 08:38:29 AM »
Anyone have one? is there a preferred brand? Any reviews of what to stay away from?

I've done my own game meat for years and never needed one, but the wife and I have started a small farm this year and we are starting to realize a bandsaw would be a nice investment if not too trouble sum.

I picked up an older commercial  style meat saw from a fine gent off HW with a thread just like this one.
Hopefully you'll get lucky, but also scour CL, sometimes a deal will pop up there also.

For farm use I would avoid the cheaper units designed for the occasional deer, farm animals are big and heavy compared to a deer.

This might not be a bad deal
https://bellingham.craigslist.org/bfs/d/biro-meatsaw/6280472158.html

This might be a steal

https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/app/d/super-biro-commercial-grade/6277049772.html

another

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tls/d/12-inch-vintage-biro-meat/6261589375.html

Thanks KFHunter - hopefully something pops up closer to the east side. Didn't want to drive over to the west side of the state for one, but will if that's the only market.
