new Leupold scope/ new rifle
«

Got a Browning X bolt Hunter .280. Want a scope, a Leupold. Duplex VX3i, I think.
3.5X10X50
or
4.5X14X50
Adjustable objective? or Side Focus?
What about a range adjustment dial?
The use will be deer/elk/what ever, longest I will shoot on game? call it 500 yards or less.
Thanks
Carl

4,5 14x50
adjustable
def. get the cds dial, you will love it.if you set at 100 yard zero you will be able to dial to it and shoot.it is very accurate.plus or minus 2000 feet on the altitude and plus minus 20 deg. or more on the temp.just give them as close as you can on the muzzle velocity.

Leupold 4.5x14x40 with 30mm tube, and CDS... Mounts lower to your rifle, 30mm tube gets you lots of adjustment, CDS super user friendly, dial in range and your set.

I vote 3.5-10, I have both and find the field of view too small and the eye relief too limited on the 4.5-14. If your going to use your new rifle as an all around rifle, meaning not sitting in one spot all day, I think you'd be happier with the 3.5-10.
