Goats near Norse Peak fire
« on: September 02, 2017, 09:29:08 AM »
I had goat permit,  I hunted areas near Fifes Peak. I see the fire has burned some of the areas I hunted.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

I was on Norse peak yesterday , on the ridge between basin lake and cement basin was two big groups of goats.  Only had binos so not sure if Billy's were in the group or not. Cement basin was going pretty good when I left.

That's the best thing for the goat population they need more grass and less trees.

Big groups will be women and children this time of year. Billies will be isolated.

From what I've heard people with the Naches pass goat tag will have the opportunity to give up their tag this year, but they will be guaranteed the tag next year, and there wont be a draw for that unit next year either.

Where'd you hear that?

The big cliffs towards Rock and Gold? Seen some there before and up below the cliffs on Manastash.  One season I was up above the gravel pit and a goat family would walk by stand in the am.
