Bugles? Cows W/Bulls?
« on: September 02, 2017, 01:12:45 PM »
Anyone hearing any bugles or seeing any cows getting chased around by bulls? Looks like the Born and Raised guys aren't having any trouble getting them to talk in Oregon. I'm just nervous this hot weather might lead to a late rut.

Thanks guys. I'd normally be out checking for myself but my wife and I just welcomed our son into the world. It looks like we're gonna have some clear weather for archery season for once!

I watched a 3pt bull running some cows yesterday morning.  I'm sure the big boys will come kick him out soon

Went out yesterday evening and today near the house. Saw a nice herd of 25 with a smaller 5 and some raggies around. Went out and scouted this morning and located 4-5 bulls who were bugling. It all shut off after 9 when the temp rose.

I was in the woods Fri, Sat, Sun for archery deer and didn't hear or see anything until Sunday.  Came across a big heard and was able to get 100 yards away and observe. 2 6x6s and a nice 5x5 as well as several rag horns. In all, probably about 100 cows with about 10 bulls. They were on a cool shady timbered bench on the side of a creek drainage escaping the heat.
