the shotgun was just a last minute thing. i actualy just thought my freind was going to get the shots ,so the 12 gauge was more or less self defense.  we are going to be in    that general area again( 5.56 and  .308  this time)  i want to know should i hit this spot or not?

You're fine to go back in right now.  One trick I have used over the years is to call the same spot with only one or two days rest if I have killed the dominate male in the area.  If you are killing coyotes in an area that has good resources for them, then you will have other coyotes filling in that area very quickly.

I have gone back to the same area in a few days but use a different call.  If I used electronic the first time, I will use hand calls the next time.  Evan the slight change in hand call will do.  Just do something different.
