My order is still under "backorder" Don't know if I should just cancel it, or see how it plays out. Rebate through Savage has to be submitted by Dec 31st it appears, so I guess I can wait till then.

Actually, 12/31 is the cut-off for elligible purchases, we have until 1/31/2018 to submit rebate paperwork, so as long as we get receipts dated no later than 12/31 we are good to go.

Good. I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Yup!

For less than $250.00 with tax, I was happy to wait till the end of the year if necessary.

Which store did you order through, Lacey or Tulalip?

Tullalip.
Checked my card. Have a pending charge from Cabelas. I guess it’s in the works now.
And yes. Hard to beat the value for this rifle. Wished it had a mag. But then it’s be more expensive.

Charge cleared my card this morning.

When I ordered my .223, the day the charge cleared was the same day I got the email saying come get it.  Hasn't happened yet with the Creedmoor though...

The two $100.00 rebate cards will help in getting a new stock and new bottom metal for one of them at least, of course then, there are mounts, optics, ammo, dies, bullets, powder......

Got the email this afternoon and just picked-up the 6.5 CM.

From order date to pick-up = 48 days.

Not bad I guess considering how many were bought during the sale and backordered, and for less than $250.00 after rebate, not complaining.

Will have to complain just a touch about their policy of having each line of each piece of paper and computer entery checked and rechecked, and verified.  Got to be a better way, especially when, like today, they were slammed at the gun counter but only two cashiers on duty...had a brief flashback to being in WalMart, a dozen or more checkouts and only 1 or 2 cashiers!!!

took the 12FV 6.5CM to the range against last night.  It's riding in a McMillan HTG stock now outfitted with savage bottom metal and DBM.  The 42.0 grains of H4350 load is the winner.  It put 5 shots in less than an inch at 200 yards.  Avg MV of 2760 with that load.  I'll be taking this gun to Montana for deer and antelope next month.

Try that same charge with 42gr RL-17 of and I bet you will have the same accuracy and you will gain a little over 100fps. Worked great for me in a 6.5 Creedmoor Howa Alpine and a Ruger American Predator.

I will give the standard, work up to the charge disclaimer. So some  🤡 clown 🤡 doesn't ☠️blow ☠️themselves up.

I have some RL17 laying around that I've used in my short mags. I may have to give it a try in the CM. I can push H4350 2850fps and hold good accuracy but the ES started to open up. I'm using lapua brass with small rifle primers. I'm pretty happy with the velocity I'm running especially with the 140VLD. I used this set up to take a Montana Whitetail last week and rifle and bullet performed great. Neck shot as he was bounding from his bed, complete pass through golf ball sized exit. Minimal meat damage. Sweet set up.
