For those guys who carry a revolver, How many speadloaders do you carry?

None. I am not who thinks that I will be in a gun fight, dodging around parked cars like in the movies. Bottom line, if some guy tries to jack you up and you stick ANYTHING in his mug, ge's gonna get the hell out of town in a hurry. Maybe..... maybe one or two shots fired and the bad guy AND me is going to get the hell out of dodge. I'm all about light and easy to shoot handguns in town. Nobody will convince me I'm going to need 3 mags with 16 rounds each. Besides whats the saying? "any gun is better than no gun"

That said. I carry a full size CZ 75b .40 cal, Kimber 1911 .45, Or a .44 mag when out in the boonies where conceilment is not as big an issue.

I have been involve in gun battles before when I served in desert storm desert shield.  I know what it feels like to be shot at and how it feels when your bullet hits another human being.  Do not tell by just pulling a gun on some one face will make them running, Ive been there done that, it does not work all the time, you know what else they shoot back.
One way to get rid of them is to over power them with superior fire power, ie shooting towards the enemy as you maneuver towards their position for the kill.  That is where you need all the rounds you got on you, if you don't then your dead meat.

If you did not notice my signature it says " Semper Fi" Indicating the Marine Corps moto of Always Faithful.

So there Gutpile, "the expert on gun battles"  how many shoot out have you had and how many confirm kills for you?

Tell me your experience not your theories.   DON"T INSULT ME AGAIN

You had me at Semper Fi, but when you start on confirmed kills, all I see is hot air. Come on Sonny, a man doesn't brag about confirmed kills even "if" he has any. Now I view you as a braggart and will ignore you from this point forward.

Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.
He who shed blood with me shall forever be my brother.

as a former police officer I carried two speed loaders and two dumps,A 12 gauge and a mini 14.Now I carry two speed loaders.for Hunting my 44 mag and bullits on my side.Something we called mental masturbation.go over in your mind many scenarios which you could get into, and what you should do and how to react, practice this in your mind, over and over.when the fight or flight kicks in automatic co pilot will help.Fight even if youve been shot, many cops were killed because they were shot and stopped, when they could have fought back.I never had to shoot someone but Ive had several times when it was close.every night I decided I was going home.

12 gauge, thanks for your service. I think your question; "how many speed loaders..." is a valid question, but points out that a revolver isn't that usefull in a firefight today. I trained with a revolver, and then with a semiauto. You would know; that more bullets can only help you when things get really ugly. I have never been there. Most of us have not. You have, so your reality is a bit different than ours.

A good ol' revolver, or shotgun or rifle is still a great deterant and self defense weapon, and I don't think many would argue with you that when things go bad, having a semiauto with multiple mags is definitely the way to go.

I dont think anyone was trying to Insult you. :dunno:

Here is a through webpage on self defense and where the legal lines into aggression get crossed.

http://www.useofforce.us/

An a little quote:
"Preclusion is the factor that is missing in most self-defense arguments, and thus the reason most fail. You must remember that you bear the burden of proof; until you prove otherwise, the law merely sees two equal citizens in a dispute. You can say, “He tried to hit me,” but then the police and the courts will ask, “Why didn’t you _____?” You must have no options to offer to fill in that blank—there must have been no other courses of action you could have taken to maintain your safety except the use of force. Otherwise, you’re just fighting because you want to, and that’s a crime."

Just so that it's not missed here is the link to a law professor and retired police "interviewer" video agreed that anything you say can be used against you although anything you say cannot be used FOR you.

Well 12 gauge if that was in any way an insult then you may want to add me to your ignore list because it surely wasn't intentional.  Don't insult me with your mil experience either, your not the only one who has served.

I stand buy my answer. When packing a revolver in town I see no need to carry speedloaders. I'm not in war, I'm not a cop. The worst that'd probably happen is that some kid will want my wallet. In the house I've got a whole different package for them. Out in the boonies I carry semi autos and spare mags. In town I don't.

Well hell, if thats an insult then we'll just have to agree to disagree. I think you need to calm down a little bit and not insult me.

The thing to remember when waiting for your permit to come in is that it is up to the Chief of Police's discretion.

Not sure what you meant by that.  WA is a “shall issue” state; shall issue within 30 days.  Neither the Chief of Police nor anyone else can withhold issuing you a CPL if you are legally entitled to own a firearm

I meant "timeframe". It could be 3 days, it could be 30. Sorry, I forgot to mention that is a 30 day max.

Took me about 2 weeks to get mine when I applied (I think); I know it was a shorter waiting period than they told me it'd me.

I know magnamonious. It really pisses me off to get stomped on for no reason. I love that pic though.  I figured by now he'd have defended his rant or said "sorry I thought you were being a smart ass".
