Eight Bucks Under My Treestand
« on: September 14, 2017, 09:28:38 PM »
The gang was eating pears and doing a little sparring right under my tree stand that is still up from several years ago, too bad I'm not bow hunting this year.

Cool.

I have seen three mature bucks total so far the last couple weeks and have been cruising looking for them instead of hunting because my back is still screwed up.  The mature bucks have been hunkered down all summer around here.

Two of those I located were on pears too, the apple crop is pretty thin around here this year.

Looks like a couple decent bucks in that vid.

Bachelor party hoping for a little fermentation of that pear crop.  Looks like it has been grazed hard, domestic livestock around or just deer?

Horses allowed in there.  I had to throw branches at them the last time I hunted it, they kept eating my apples.... This year they are not on that side of the fence.

Seth30 will probably be on the stand tomorrow.

Had to boot a young buck out of his bed by the tree to get Seth in there a little bit ago.  While we were trimming a few branches, several does came by us (him in the tree and me just standing there) at about ten yards.

Freezer pets, it looks like.

They taste as good as any high buck deer, and I can hunt from my house.....   8)   :kneel:

Seth texted me less than an hour later with BBD, "brown" buck down....     I t looks small in the photo but was 100lb hanging weight, a high average for the island.

Thanks again for a great day of hunting, and all the hospitality!  It was very tempting to go after all the does I had under me :chuckle:
