GPS for property boundries ???

Not sure where to put this but since i'll be using it for bowhunting figure this will work.  What's the best gps that everyone's using that shows property boundries like people's private land next to say state land.

I have a Rhino 650 and got the Montana Onyx chip for an additional $100 a few years ago.  However, I recently got an iPhone and am thinking of getting the Onyx app for that.  From what I can tell from the Onyx website, it's significantly less expensive to get the app with one state at $29.99 for the year (the "Premium" app package for iOS or Android). 

I don't know if the phone apps come with the satellite imagery, but the imagery is extra for my Garmin Rhino.

Will those chips work in a Garmin® eTrex® 20x ??   Guess i'm in the market for one that fits the on-x chip  and the chip.  Anyone has one for sale let me know

Yes, with the app loaded on your phone, it can still access the satellite signals without cell service.  However, I suspect you many have to load satellite imagery for the area you plan to be hunting in if you won't have cell service.  The imagery is not necessary for the GPS to work as the app has topo maps loaded on it, but it's real nice to have the imagery.

You should be able to go to the OnyxMaps website and see what GPS units the chips are compatible with.  I think you can also download the chip data directly from the website to your GPS (it may be slightly cheaper than buying the chip). 

If you have a smartphone, it's probably cheaper to get the app than buying a GPS unit for several hundred dollars AND the chip for at least 100 more.

I use the on-x in my Garmin etrex . I also use the on-x chip in my PC with base camp for scouting from home . Love it .

OnX usually has a 7 day free trial for the app.  Just download it and give it a try.
I used the free trail last year for Deer season to see if it was worth the cost.

Thanks for the clarity Bob33!  I didn't realize that the maps had to be downloaded in the same way that the satellite imagery does.  Is there an extra cost for the satellite imagery when using the app on a smartphone?
