She was hanging with a large group of deer, I think she thinks she is a deer.  She stayed with the group as they moved off.

isnt that really odd to see one that far north?

did you see any other sign of elk in the area. or has anyone for that matter seen sign of elk in the general area.

ive personaly never seen much elk sign north of liberty on highway 97. let alone the north side of highway 2...

At least you got to see some cool critters.  Saw one last time I was up in Winthrop too.  One lone cow, same place as last year.  I assume its the same one as in the same one I saw not yours.

Theres elk all the way to the canadian border (and beyond bank) just not many of them

thats cool. i once saw  a small bull elk that was hanging out with some cattle.  i dont know if he knew he didnt belong or not.
you cant eat the horns, but backstraps look like crap on my wall!!!!

I seen that cow several times last winter just hanging around but she was closer to the road. When the snow melted she vanished. I assume its the same one. Seen tracks up there this winter.

I ran across 3 cows up around bridgeport last winter.  They were hanging with a herd of deer as well.   :dunno:
