I haven't done it, but there was a metal recyclers right down there by the transfer station that I presume would take brass.

My dad has taken in a few 5 gallon buckets of brass....mostly empty  cases. Depending on what recyclers are paying at the time you can get pretty good $ out of worn out or crushed empties

I took a 14 pound box of worn out brass down to a scrap yard in Longview and got $1.45/lbs for them. To get the best price make sure there are no primers in them, that way you get clean brass price.  They don't like primers, it causes problems when melting them, especially live primers.

I have a couple of brass lamps that I bought in Korea back in the day.  They were made from the brass of artillery shells left over from the war.  I have no idea how to do it but they are pretty cool pieces.

So what do you do with all of the used primers? I have a big jar full of them.

Recycle them separately.  They won't get much but at least they won't be in a landfill.

High grade brass is doing ok right now.  Call the local recyclers - prices really do vary from vendor to vendor.  We recycle copper in loads of several hundred pounds so we try to keep an eye on all the local recycler rates.
