Bow Press
« on: September 27, 2017, 01:09:39 PM »
What bow press are you running at the house?
Want something that doesn't twist the limbs any and money is always on the mind, but don't want a cheaply made product.
Won't be using it often and not working on other's bows, just my own, learning as I go.

Use the cable type one with split limb att. Works great when we change a string out every 5-10 years.

I've heard lots of good things about these for home presses.

I made a home made one with a bottle jack, and some square steel tubing.  Fairly easy and still works 10 years later.  Cost me 45 bucks to make.

For those wondering. The listed press above does work.... BUT I was extremely nervous using it.  Didn't like how it held onto tgen limbs.  Got the new string and cables on the hoyt but returning the cable press and getting a EZ green

I have an Omni press that I would sell at a reasonable price. It was my first real bow press and works just fine. PM if interested.

I spent around $300 in parts and built this one.  It could be done for cheaper if you make your own fingers, I opted to pay someone $100 for them instead.  If interested, there is a long running thread on archerytalk.com on how to do it.
