Brittany or Springer Spaniel breeder
« on: September 29, 2017, 04:48:42 AM »
Any solid breeders around Washington or Oregon? I don't care about show lines but would want a kick ass field dog.

Yes, I am aware that the dogs listed are two different functions. This will be the wife's dog and these are the two breeds she likes.

You picked 2 awesome breeds. Does your wife have a preference in the size of the dog. Might consider the Bullet version of the Brittany. Lighter dog easier to pick up and move around :twocents:

The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

No real preference on size. My first bird dog was a Springer and she was a great hunter as well as family dog. We have a GSP (on my second one) so I would kind of prefer the Brittany but this time it is her choice. If she opts for the Springer that is just fine too we'll just have to work them in shifts in the field. My GSP is entering her first season so they will both be relatively young dogs and I would want to work them separately anyway.

tag GL finding a good breeder in WA,  I had mine shipped from WY.   The weather is right, I wouldn't hesitate to use Delta pet again.

Who did you get your dog from in WY and are you happy with the dogs natural ability?

I'm an avid Britt guy.  I highly recommend Jason Staley near Twin Falls, ID.  He's an excellent dog man, breeder and trainer.  I believe he has a litter on the ground right now.  He breeds very nice dogs and knows a lot about their pedigree and what you can expect as far as temperament, bidability, and hunting.

Ya, fantastic dog with huge drive.  Very trainable and solid health.  Couldn't be happier with the dog.
