Looks like some great hunting and looks like lots of real estate is being cover which is always good to take a couple of birds from multiple coveys.

18 chukars and two huns for my friends and I today. Not too bad for not having a dog. Can't wait to get a GSP!

Just as a heads up, saw a ton of snakes yesterday.
what county did you see all the snakes?

Hopefully the rain stays out so I can hit "the hole" tomorrow. Doesn't look that way though.

Merkle, only snake I seen here has been a bull snake.

Went to an old area that used to hold a lot of huns, but got skunked.  Basically a nice armed hike.  Great to get out and get my setter and I some exercise though.  Got to use a new 16ga hammer gun that I finished working on also.   It's a Husqvarna mod. 100 hammer gun.  Best chukar gun I've ever owned.  Choked ic/xf, drops them at 50 yds.

Was planning on heading east this weekend for the pheasant/quail opener, but it's supposed to rain all week.  Sigh...

Gents,
just a warning. There are still plenty of snakes out in the desert areas. Was surprised to see them.
best, jackson
