Preferred Scope Rings?
« on: October 03, 2017, 06:33:35 PM »
Went to Sportsman Warehouse today. I was looking to buy some higher end rings.

I looked at the Leupold mark 4 30mm rings $159.00 no issues here.

I also looked at Leopold  PRW 30mm rings and there was a obvious crack in the portion that attaches to the bases. This made me question buying the mark 4 rings.

Though looking through the packaging they looked fine.

I ended up getting a set of my trusty Warne 30mm rings. Steel construction and have not failed me yet.

Anyone have a set of go to rings? Better yet has anyone had problems with Leopold rings?
A remarkable experience is one where the pain is forgotten so quickly, the frustrations and struggles are forgotten the minute you’re done.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

Burris Tactical six screw on some of my guns have worked great.  I just installed a set of  steel Chinese QD four screw rings that seem to be top notch for the cost.  I've been shooting scopes since the 1960 and have yet to have a set of rings fail on a rifle and most of mine get taken on and off a lot as I hunt with low power variables and do load developemnt with higher power scopes.  Usually bad rings are obviouse failures before they ever get on the gun and get sent back or tossed.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Make mine a Minaska

I love the Leupold Mark 4's and have never had a issue with any of them over the last 10 years.  Dropped my 9 pound gun right on the scope( Burris Euro Signature) and it didn't move POI at all.  I prefer Talley light one pieces for my lighter rifles but can't go wrong with the M4's  not a real fan of the PRW but never had them fail either.

I've never had any problems with Talley 1-piece rings or Warne, also, I really like the Seekins and American Rifle Company if you want premium rings.
Disappointments are inevitable, misery is optional.
