Mathews Halon 32 5in or 6in brace question
« on: October 05, 2017, 09:57:39 AM »
I have been shooting a lot of bows narrowing down what I will be shooting next year. It looks like I'm finally going to replace my Mathews Drenalin with a faster smoother bow. I have recently fallen in love with how dead in the hand the Halon series is.

So far I have shot the Halon 6in brace, Halon X comp, Halon 32 in 6in brace, Prime Centergy, Prime Centergy Air, Hoyt Carbon defiant, Hoyt defiant turbo, and Bowtech something or other 2017 flagship bow.

I have not had an opportunity to shoot the Halon's or Halon 32's in the 5in brace height but am really interested in these bows and I see quite a few 6in or 5in brace height bows of them appear for sale in the last few weeks. As a short draw length at 26- 26.5" will I notice a big difference in shooting a 5" brace height bow?

I see a multitude of articles that go either way, stating that I wouldn't or would notice a huge difference and 6" seems to be the cutoff for a lot of people. Does anyone know a shop that has 5" brace halons in shop? Or have any insight to help me pick?

I have a 26.5" draw.
Shoot the Halon 32 in a 7" brace.
60 lbs.

The longer the brace height the less chance of hitting your arm when in hunting clothes.
I love mine.
