I know that there have been some negative feelings expressed on the forum in the past regarding buck run, and I will admit that I have in the past Probably spoken unfavorably of it. That being said, buck run and specifically Derrick Stevens did a really awesome thing for a young lady this past week. There is a young lady here in the Ephrata area that sadly has a severe form of bone cancer and barring divine intervention is probably not long for this world. Derrick was contacted by a mutual friend regarding this young lady and agreed to let her hunt free of charge. Furthermore, he asked the family if he could be their guide and made every effort to help her get one of the Nicest bucks on the place. My friend was part of the hunt, and told me that Derrick literally talked her out of shooting countless decent bucks because he wanted her to get one of the best Bucks on the farm. He then set up to have the taxidermy done for her and again at no charge to her family. Anyway, being that I have spoken critically of buck run in the past, I wanted to personally post this because It really changed my perspective! Derrick, you have earned my respect and gratitude as a result of this amazing act of kindness.

I have hammered Buckrun as well, but am very happy to hear about Derrick's generosity and effort. Well done.

Great story and you are right if you are going to criticize you have to also give praise when it is due. Not always the easiest thing to do.
Thanks for sharing the good.
