Montana Bound - Archery Mule Deer & Antelope
« on: October 06, 2017, 08:30:41 PM »
@DaveMonti and I will be archery hunting in his super top secret hunting grounds in Montana this next week. I was fortunate enough to be invited this year to tag along and chase mulies and antelope in his annual trip. I am sure we will post daily pictures and adventures, so tag along for some fun.

In Bozeman for the night. 5 or 6 more hours and we will be ready to put the stalk on!

A nice looking buck bedded out in the open.  Couldn't within bow range of him, but did get close to several others.

I have lots of updates! Just in Houston TX for the week and don't have my camera to upload. That "busted" stalk was epic! One for the memory books! Great trip, great friends, can't ask for much more!

Jimmy didn't use the Side by Side at all.  He said it was "too cold" for the UTV when it was 59 degrees out.  He took his truck everywhere.

It's a handy machine when you are in a big ranch like we were.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to use it to retrieve any game!

Thanks! Planning on heading back to Montana in a couple weeks. Plan this time around is to hunt public lands in Western Montana. SW Montana is awesome and a great time was had, heck, we were hunting and that is always a win. Now time to try and fill the tags and get some meat.

If anyone has constructive feedback for Western Montana rifle areas, please feel free to PM me, I am all ears. I have a couple of areas in mind, but would like to stay as close to home as possible so my wife and kids don’t complain too much ;)  Of course, I am always willing to share meat or help with Washington areas to gain knowledge :)

I just had sinus/nose surgery and hope I am healed up enough in a couple weeks to head out. Ugh the thought of rifle recoil makes me kind of nauseous lol haha
