Apple Pie Filling

I usually post these in the garden thread but this might be a better spot. My Jonnygold apples are ready so I picked a bunch and made a batch of canned pie filling yesterday. Its pretty simple but time consuming and a bit messy but worth it. I've tweaked it a bit since I first tried it a few years ago but this one is still pretty good.

In November U.S. manufacturing contracted for the the ninth consecutive month. Layoffs across the economy are higher than anytime since the pandemic in 2020 and I just read that the Midwest farmers will be receiving a 12B bailout due to 50 year trade relationships being destroyed. I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't believe in the effectiveness in tariffs but I'm a believer now.

That's a awesome idea!!!! I always tell my wife wish we could do them more often but they are so much work. Do it once then have more ready to use later.

My wife uses an apparatus that peels cores and slices all at once it's from pampered chef. She makes  the best apple pie. So whatever it costs, it doesn't really matter because if it makes it easier it's worth it. I'll take a picture of it later and post it.

Hmm, I just slice the apples up and stick them in the freezer. When I take them out to thaw I dump in a bowl and when thawed add a little cinnamon and tapioca, give them a stir and into the crust or I can use them in cobbler without the tapioca.
