GMU 418 NOOKSACK
« on: October 09, 2017, 08:07:57 AM »
Hey folks,
Going on my first overnight bear hunt in a couple weeks in GMU 418, nooksack.   We are not very familiar with the area, other than studying maps, and reading on the internet.  The plan is to take a service road up as far as we can, find a cut to park in, and then hike the rest of the way to find a suitable campsite near a good area.  I'm looking for any recommendations to start this adventure from. We were hoping to stay on the south east side of mount baker, north west of baker lake (I'm a little familiar with that area).   But we are willing to adjust.  I'm not looking for anyone to give me their best hunting sites in the area :-\  Just looking for a starting point...Any help much appreciated.

Looking at the weather forecast be ready for snow if you up near the mountain. Even if there isn't snow fog could be a big issue.

Bears are everywhere in 418. Pick an area and get familiar with it and you should do ok finding animals.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.
